Complete the Concourse

The Grand Concourse is one of the longest, widest and terrifying streets in the Bronx. The street’s dangerous conditions encourage speeding, and unsafe interactions between the different modes of transportation, putting thousands of daily Bronxites at risk. Since July 2012, over 1,069 people were injured and 13 were killed due to the dangerous conditions along the Concourse.

Join Transportation Alternatives and our network of 100,000 New Yorkers committed to safe and complete streets in New York City. Speak up for life-saving improvements to the entire Concourse with traffic calming measures, protected bike lanes, curb extensions, and dedicated bus lanes.

This petition will be delivered to
Bronx Community Boards 1, 4, 5 and 7
We want to create a safe space for Bronx residents to exercise, connect with their neighborhood, encourage non-polluting, healthy transportation choices, and boost local businesses. We support street improvements that will make the Grand Concourse safer and more vibrant in the future.

We support the installation of life-saving improvements to the entire Concourse with traffic calming measures, protected bike lanes, curb extensions, and dedicated bus lanes.

Protected bike lanes, pedestrian safety and transit improvements will:

- Reduce crashes for everyone on the street by up to 58 percent
- Reduce sidewalk riding by up to 84 percent
- Increase retail sales up to 49 percent
