Fix 9th Street

On March 5th, two children and their mothers were struck by a driver in a crosswalk on 9th Street. The mothers were hospitalized and seriously injured. The children, Joshua Lew and Abigail Blumenstein, aged 1 and 4, were killed.

Local activists have begged officials to fix 9th Street for years. Had it been redesigned, there is a chance these childrens' lives could have been saved. Lets not wait any longer.

Send a message to demand Mayor Bill de Blasio fix 9th Street now.

This petition will be delivered to
Mayor de Blasio, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, NYCDOT Commissioner Polly Trottenberg, City Councilperson Brad Lander, Brooklyn Community Board 6
On March 5th, two children were killed by a driver on 9th Street, and their mothers seriously injured -- all while in the crosswalk. These children were not the first New Yorkers killed on this dangerous street. Countless people have been injured.

Please fix 9th Street. With protected bike lanes, concrete pedestrian islands, and a narrower roadway, 9th Street could be transformed into a truly safe community space.

For years, local activists have begged officials to fix 9th Street. Had it been redesigned years ago, there is a chance these childrens' lives could have been saved.

Lets not wait any longer. Vision Zero infrastructure could prevent future tragedies. Please, fix 9th St. No excuses.
