Safer Boston Road

As one of the most important corridors in northeast Bronx, thousands of people use Boston Road everyday.  However, the road’s current design encourages speeding and makes it hostile for pedestrians and cyclists to travel safely.  From July 2012 - September 2017, 753 people injured and 5 people killed on Boston Road, including 2 in this year alone.

With wide lanes, long crosswalks, diagonal intersections, lack of bus lanes and bike lanes, Boston Road currently fails to serve the needs of most residents in the area.  We need a redesign of Boston Road that can safely accommodate all users of the corridor.
